For shot seekers and strat makers VALUABLE, there is probably nothing more exciting than the day a new map comes out. And that day will come again on January 1st. 10, 2023, when Lotus has been released also Launch of Episode Six.
Set in India and heavily inspired by ancient Indian rock architecture, Lotus has a three-zone layout similar to Haven, with two revolving temple doors that swing around and alert anyone when used, as well as a breakable door at junction A. Between site A and site B.
After extensive testing combined with some feedback from professionals and creators, we’ve come up with a solid early list of some of the best agents to run on Lotus.
Best agents to play in Lotus
omen
Omen’s pinpoint smoke placement abilities combined with his teleporting abilities make him a prime candidate for any Lotus composition. On defense, an early smoke into a tight spot on the offensive side can more confidently get him and his other teammates out of an offensive angle. Attacking, blowing smoke on the A ladder, is the gateway to running a successful site A.
Lotus has many nooks and crannies for teleporting and hiding, and most corridors, corridors, and even sites are narrow enough for Paranoia to have a strong impact in most scenarios.
Port
VALORANTs newest agent It fits nicely with any composition in Lotus, which makes sense considering that the new map is essentially the Harbor’s home ground. Harbor’s control over the High Tide waterwall makes it easy to build walls from multiple angles on the field. And for larger transition points that other controllers can’t cover with a single use of smoke, Cascade is perfect. Cove is also a terrific utility for any rescue or pistol round, as is the Calculate ultimate value given the sites small size.
viper
There are a lot of potential post-plant Snakebite arrays in Lotus for Viper, and on a three-map site like this one, the map control Viper can exert using Toxic Screen and Poison Cloud is invaluable. As mentioned in the Prophecy section above, the sites in Lotus aren’t that big, making his Viper’s Pit much more useful even after recent nerfs.
Chewing
In Lotus, you will see a lot of aggression from both defenders and attackers trying to take control of the main areas leading to the sites and Lotus’ trademark revolving doors. Therefore, having Breach almost feels like a necessity to slow down the opponent’s aggression. In addition, Breach’s Rolling Thunder ultimate is one of the best ultimate you can have in Lotus if you’re going for a site execution or retake.
Fade
Among scout starters like Skye, KAY/O, and Sova, Fade seems to be the most useful in Lotus. With all the different hiding spots and nooks for camping, dodging vehicles like Sova’s scout dart and Skye’s Guiding Light can be easier than on other maps. The amount of space Fade Haunt can cover is very useful, especially for areas like A main and C main, and like Breach, her ultimate is a great start to any execution or rollback.
spoilsport
With three areas to take care of as a defender, having Killjoy in place to completely block entry into an area significantly reduces the burden on the rest of the team. On top of that, Killjoy Lockdown is extremely powerful in executions or reshoots, as there are so many angles and corners in areas outside of a small site.
Jett
Since early aggression is likely to be a theme in Lotus, who better to anchor this aggression than Jett? With an Operator or rifle, Jett can get an early kill or even just get information and go back to safety, and there are plenty of high spots throughout the entire map that he can easily reach to catch his opponents off guard.
