The Tesla Semi could make a great electric camper van based on the specs released by Tesla this week and how incredible these drawings of the electric truck look as a camper van.
There is something about the idea of ββan all-electric, solar-powered campervan that is extremely appealing to many people.
You drive emissions-free all day and can power your life with the same battery pack that gets you moving. You can charge it overnight to do it again the next day.
With solar power, you can also get the whole experience off the grid.
There are several electric camper projects that want to offer this type of experience to customers, but most of them are still in development. at the concept stage or with a very limited range.
We recently reported new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter Possibly impressive enough to make an electric “van life” possible, but if you need or want something bigger?
The Tesla Semi could make an interesting platform for the electric caravan.
set WowAn interior accessory maker thought so while watching the unveiling of the production version of the Tesla Semi this week, and decided to sketch what a Tesla Semi trailer might look like:

This one looks pretty tough, and the electric truck as the specs to support this look.
The biggest problem with most electric camper projects right now is that they have a limited range. For example, Winnebago built its own full-size electric trailer. but it only has a range of 125 miles.
With the announcement of the production version this week, Tesla Tesla Semi has roughly 900 kWh battery pack and can travel more than 500 miles with a total load of 82,000 lbs.
And since the Tesla Semi will likely weigh less than 82,000 lbs, it will achieve even greater range as a camper van. Some of the heaviest 40+ foot long caravans today rarely weigh more than 50,000 lbs. The Tesla Semi is heavier than most class 8 trucks, but there must be a way to build a campervan on the platform and keep the weight under 70,000 lbs, which should result in efficiency gains.
You could probably go over 600 miles in a single day without recharging in a Tesla Semi trailer and then charge it overnight. You will be able to cover impressive distances in just a few days. All emission free.
Jowua also produced an image of the inside of a Tesla Semi trailer vision:

It will likely require some cooperation from Tesla, but there must be a way to power the livery features of the trailer with the powertrain’s battery pack. You add some deployable solar panels when you park for a long time and are at work.
If Tesla doesn’t do that, I’m sure other companies will also decide to make electric caravans based on the Tesla Semi. Cyberlandr is trying to do it with Tesla Cybertruck.
Likewise, the famous DJ and music producer Deadmau5 also said that he will participate. buy a Tesla Semi and turn it into a mobile music studio.
