on Nintendo Switch subseries There has also been some talk about the control setup, but others are happy to see the iconic shooter return:
BBQQA – “I’m still amazed that this happened. For years me and my friends used to complain that we’d never see it in a modern release so we’d be stuck in IP Rights hell. But somehow it happened. I didn’t.” I don’t think you really understand how improbable it is. This is madness.”
Odie_Odie – “I still play Goldeneye every year on my N64, play for a few hours on the weekend before I reboot my system and I must say, the Controls aren’t that bad. It’s very similar to the original. I think a lot of people find they don’t like Goldeneye because of the controls. Every when they were there, hahaha.”
MillwrightWF – “…an old waiver of millennials, so 007 was a big part of growing up. First of all, I let my Fortnite-obsessed son play, and after he totally screwed me up in Fortnite, that was more my style. He’s doing the building . and other things, that’s where it gets me. Haha there are no buildings in this game my son and I took it out a few times. But once I got the controls down he wanted to keep playing! It looks pretty good. It’s not the clutter I expected. No slowdowns from the original. A little more tomorrow. I can’t wait to buy time.”
And here’s what’s on our community sister website Pure Xbox He says this about the Xbox version of the game:
game cube – “As a veteran of the original game’s earliest times, this version plays better than ever. The modern control scheme on the Xbox sends it kicking and screaming into the present. I briefly tried the Switch version with the original control layout and a true N64 controller will clearly benefit from your device. The Xbox version played perfectly with dual thumb sticks.”
Bucky – “I played through the campaign in Agent difficulty on Switch last night and this morning. I tried a few levels on Xbox and thought it felt better on Switch, but it required some button remapping”
Sugar SkullM – “I love it, but I can’t deny that the nostalgia factor (and power) is strong in this one. It’s still fun after all these years.”
Tekno92LFC – “No doubt me and other people would have loved to see the Xbox Live Arcade version so I don’t understand why we don’t have it, Maybe someone here knows? However, it’s great to see this on an Xbox console and with updated controls.”
